Who We Are

HSS Consortium — Brief of Engagements

HSS Consortium officially started operations in September 2023, sourcing various types of steel sheet in coil and importing to Bangladesh to meet the country’s steel demand — primarily for development projects.
After import, HSS Consortium distributes steel through multiple sales channels via Dhaka and Chittagong-based traders, manufacturers, and agents. HSS Consortium is also the sole distributor of HANSUNG STEEL from South Korea — a leading Korean steel trader with over 400 shipments from FY 2022–2024, totalling 40,000+ tons of diverse steel products valued at over $30 million.
From the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to the Matarbari Deep Sea Port and Power Plant, from furniture to the country’s growing transportation sector, our supplied steel can be found everywhere.

Establishing Our Own Steel Mill

HSS Consortium has a clear vision to establish its own steel mill — meeting the future demand for high-value steel goods in Bangladesh. Our strife for excellence is continuous as we work toward making Bangladesh self-sufficient in premium steel production.
Long-Term Goal
Reduce Bangladesh’s dependence on imported steel by building a domestic high-value steel production facility aligned with Korean metallurgical standards.

Zero Idle Stock

Advance Sales Policy

Before any import, HSS Consortium secures confirmed sales channels for each specific batch of steel. We pride ourselves on having a very sustainable and trustworthy sales network — meaning no idle inventory.

Cost Efficiency

Bulk Import Collaboration

To minimize procurement costs, HSS collaborates with other importers to import in bulk. This guarantees more competitive sourcing than individual importers — and savings are passed directly to clients.

Certified Origins

Quality Assurance

HSS sources primarily Prime Steel and Secondary Steel (over roll or prime excess) from certified mills. Every product is sourced with full traceability back to the originating Korean or Taiwanese mill.

Full Compliance

Regulatory Compliance

All import operations comply fully with Bangladesh trade regulations. LC processing, customs documentation, and VAT obligations are managed in-house by dedicated compliance specialists.

Specialized Channels

Multi-Channel Distribution

Different steel types have dedicated sales channels. HR Coil goes to major processors; CR Coil to fan manufacturers; GI/GP to pipe and prefab firms; GA and Color Coil to transport and construction sectors.

Growing Volumes

Continuous Growth

Annual import volumes are steadily increasing from 600–700 tons per fiscal year. HSS reinvests operational learnings and partnerships into expanding product range and market reach.
