CR steel is produced by continuously rolling Hot Rolled steel under pressure, forming thinner and more precise steel sheets. Bangladesh has 6–7 CR manufacturers but domestic production still cannot meet national demand.

GI steel is the zinc-coated galvanized form of CR coil, offering superior corrosion resistance. Bangladesh has 6–7 domestic manufacturers, but thicker versions (over 1.6mm) represent a significant import gap — especially for prefab and steel building construction.
